Lunch box

Smoothie for breakfast. Today's smoothie included
1 cup organic blueberries
1 cup organic spinach
1 organic banana
1 tsp spirulina
2 Tbsp chia seeds
1 Tbsp organic agave
2 Tbsp shredded coconut
Apple juice, enough to incorporate
My loving note to my husband reminding him to drink his smoothie :)

I am making some organic alfalfa sprouts in my sprouter. Just a couple more days!

Lunch today is half an organic avocado, some fresh hummus, 1/4 an organic grapefruit, organic baby carrots, organic almonds, a Bubbies pickle, & two slices of Ezekiel bread. I brought some nutritional yeast on the side too of course.

Do you guys like my reusable zip lock from WasteNot Saks? Cute huh? They are a little small, I will have to buy the bigger ones next.

  3. Oh, I do love your reusable bag! I wash baggies until they die, but yours is cute and practical!

You're inspiring me to put blueberries in my smoothies. I've just recently started enjoying blueberries and they're everywhere these days.

  4. Jessica- Thanks! I only bought three because they were a little spendy, but I use them a lot! I always add blueberries because one, I love them, and two, because that is the only frozen organic fruit that Costco sells. I try to buy organic as much as possible :)

  7. Nice subtle note, I loved it, LOL.

The reusable bag was adorable. Does it close with velcro or a zipper?

  11. Love those bags!! I hate using plastic bags so I always try to use containers, but those bags would probably take up a lot less space!

  13. Interesting lunch. I could see where you could space it out throughout the day and say eat the grapefruit at 9am, the almonds at 10am, the pickle at 11am...

  14. Funny about the note to your husband...I have to do the same thing for mine, if I don't the smoothie will still be in the freezer when I get home from work...ha BTW, great looking lunch! Cute baggies too!

  16. Shen- That's actually a good idea to eat it throughout the day. I was a little worried that I would still be hungry but fortunately I wasn't. I think the almonds and hummus helped to fill me up. It was funny cuz my boss walked by as I was eating and then stopped and starred at it. He said, wow that's alot of......not meat. I was like, um yes it is?...weird

Michelle- Good to know I'm not the only one writing "reminder" notes to the husband;)

  17. Rose- He drank it! :) I texted him to remind him too though. I liked the idea of adding shredded coconut in the smoothie. I always add coconut in some way though!

  18. Very sweet and loving note, ha! :) We have a bunch of reusable velcro bags, and they really last a long time, even with the kids using them and having to wash them all of the time. I'm curious about your sprouter. Sprouting is one of my goals for the immediate future, something I'd like to "figure out."

  19. Jenny- Aren't the reusable bags great!? Sprouting is great and so easy! Buy yourself a sprouting jar or make your own sprouter here: http://www.ehow.com/how_5017447_build-sprouter.html
I like my sprouter jar though and they are not too expensive. It's super easy and sprouts are so nutritious!
