An apple a day...

Fruits and veggies getting ready to be super blended.

This is what I drink about every other day. My husband and brother will drink it as well if I add enough apples. I usually add raw apples, raw beets, and raw kale, but I also added spinach in this one. If you have a Blendtec then press the Whole Juice button. If not, then juice all this in your juicer.

Snack and reading break

My husband took me apple picking! I really enjoyed it and they had a great gift shop. My only complaint is that the apples were not organic. I don't think any of the farmers in Nebraska are really into organic farming.

Check these babies out! This was once we got home and I sprayed, scrubbed, and washed them.
These were a few things that I picked up at the gift shop. My friend Mark and I did the wine tasting apple we picked apples in the first orchard. My husband, brother, and Marlana went on the tractor to the further orchard to pick more apples. The wine tasting was fun. You get to pick four different wines that their shop carries and try them all out. We tried the apple wine, cherry wine, strawberry wine, and peach wine. It was $5 to try all four and then they give you a free wine glass after. I thought that wasn't too bad. We both really liked the apple wine and ended up purchasing it. I also bought the tequila jelly and corn cob jelly. What a great day!

  1. I didn't know they had fresh fruit and sun in Nebraska. I always imagined the state to be one giant factory farm enshrouded in pollution. Go figure.

  2. Well luckily for me I have not seen any meat farms yet. All we have around here is soybeans, corn, and berries :)

  3. How adorable! I haven't been apple picking since I was little. AND I've never put apples in smoothies, although I should because they'd be such a money-saver compared to expensive frozen fruit!

Your apple-picking day looks fun! I would love to go apple picking, but I don't think we have a place like that around here :(

  9. We have "Apple Hill" about an hour from Sacramento. There are tons of apple farms that cater to school field trips in October. Apple picking is so much fun - glad you had a chance to do it. And your gift shop purchases look fun.

  10. The apple orchard pictures are beautiful. I always enjoy looking in the "farm stores" at places like that. I don't think I've ever actually picked apples right off a tree though. Happy almost fall!

  11. Diane- You should try it! Well, I don't normally add them to smoothies, just to juice. It is so good to sweeten up a green juice.

River- Yes, I love the Blendtec and I drink green juice all the time! My husband actually asks for it now because he said he feels good every time after he drinks it.

Ali-This was my first time and I enjoyed it. I am such a freak about wanting everything to be organic now though, so the non-organic aspect kind of freaked me out a little :)

Michelle- Wine tasting is fun! This was my first time. I am not huge on wine, but the apple wine was great! You should definitely try apple wine :)

Jessica@Limas-Yay! I am so proud of you! You should just start with a little spinach. I am telling you, you will not even notice it is there. I have definitely advanced from there and now drink stuff that pretty much tastes like grass, so you get used to it after a while.

Jessica- I am actually sending that one to my mother in law, but I can let you know how the tequila jelly tastes? :)

Blessedmama- I am glad that you get to go apple picking often. I think it is so cool to be able to pick your own

Miss Rachel- Happy almost fall to you too! I love farm stores!
