Places to eat in Omaha

Today's smoothie

1 cup blueberries
1 cup organic spinach
2 Tbsp tahini (way too much, cut down to 1 Tbsp)
1 Tbsp peanut butter
1 organic mango, chopped
2 Tbsp chia
1/2 cup acai juice

My husband took me to this little falafel shop. I had the falafel sandwich with the curry fries.

One of the falafels fell on the floor before this picture so it looks like less than it is. It was pretty yummy but honestly, nothing out of this world.

Next day, my husband brought me here to Mcfosters Natural Kind Cafe. I LOOOOOOVE this place!

They have tons of choices of things that can be juiced. I got the 12 oz make your own juice. I chose apple, beet, and celery. So yummy! I forced my husband to drink half and he actually liked it!
I can't remember what this was called but it was basically a pastry puff stuffed with different greens like beet greens and collards. On top of it they put some tofu scramble and eggless hollandaise sauce with some hash browns on the side. I could not stop telling my husband how much I loved this!
This was some garbanzo bean burgers I made with some dill tahini sauce topped with spinach and cilantro on a tortilla.
A lovely cup of green tea kombucha before bed.

Also, I forgot when I was doing my Happy Award to nominate 10 people! I will try to nominate people that have not got the award yet, but as you know, I love you all :o)

  5. I'm glad to see you are finding some good places! Greens in pastry sounds yum. Most people are surprised that there are vegans in the middle of the country ... it may be a little more difficult than in a big East or West Coast city, but you can find great stuff. And, yeah, some just-okay stuff too.

  6. Glad you've found some vegan eats in Omaha...it's hopeful to know that vegan-minded people can be found in most places! The food looks so good, the all-day breakfast w/ vegan hollandaise sounds like it would totally hit the spot...and your garbanzo bean burger wrap looks awesome.

  11. I am glad I am finding some good places too! I was pretty worried before I got here, but there are a few. I just have to make the drive to get to them :) Oh, and Michelle I actually got the idea from Ali for the tahini in smoothies. Just don't put too much, cuz that stuff can be overpowering.
