Happy Autumn All!

Hello my dear friends. I have missed you all! Everything has been so crazy over here in Gretna, Nebraska, but it should start to calm down within the next week. We will be moving into our new home tomorrow! Hip hip HORRAY! So thanks for still coming around my site even though I have been so bad about updating and commenting.

Let me start by saying, Happy Harvest! That just sounds fitting seeing as where I live now, corn is being harvested on all sides of me. I absolutely LOVE Fall. I have always loved it, even when in the islands. This is my first Fall living in a place with the actual "Fall Season". It is so amazing to watch the leaves change colors and fall to the ground, as well as seeing squirrels out running around collecting acorns. (We don't have squirrels in Hawaii so bare with me.)

You know what this time of year calls for don't you? APPLE CIDER! And it's actually cold here, so it's even funner to drink! I used my normal Apple Cider recipe, which you can find HERE. Everyone said they loved it. I always buy a big thing of organic apple juice to make it and I honestly think organic apple juice is so much better than normal apple juice.

A huge bin of baby pumpkins at the pumpkin patch here. I work with kids and we got to go on a field trip to Vala's Pumpkin Patch. It was so fun!

More pumpkins...I love very much.

Just a shot from my car of the pretty sun going down.

  1. Happy autumn to you, too! :) I also love seeing the leaves change color. It doesn't really happen around here (southern CA/central coast), but when I live in northern CA and realized it actually goes through those noticeable types of seasonal changes, I fell in loved with it. So beautiful. Best of luck with the move!

  2. Happy Autumn to you too!

Glad to hear you're getting settled in! Relocating is a lot of work! And finally moving into your own place again must be so exciting and so welcome!

I love fall too! It is hands down my favorite season. And it must be so fun to experience in a different climate zone.

That cider sounds delicious! I read the recipe and I have to try some soon...I'm thinking it will be great for Halloween!

Love the pumpkin pics! Pumpkins are so cheery.

  3. Hey Carissa, great to see you back. I too have been MIA for a while mostly because of a low mood, but I think I'm finally on an upswing. I love this post because I love fall too - apples, pumpkins, brightly colored leaves; it's so beautiful. Happy Harvest to you also!

  4. I never thought I could make my own apple cider! How exciting! I love fall too...perfect running weather!

  5. PS:

I love that you're drinking the cider out of
Ball're a woman after my own heart.

  6. Happy Fall to you too. I love the baby pumpkin picture. That is just too adorable.

  7. It's good to have you back! I wondered what happened to you. Sounds like you are about to finally get settled in though. I know you will be glad to get moved into your new home.
Your cider sounds awesome! I must try your recipe! :o)

  8. Welcome back! No squirrels in Hawaii? I never would have guessed that! And, I guess corn is not just a summer food, which I thought it was. Whaddya know? See, now I have two new gems of info to pass on to my kids. :-)

  9. Harvesting corn in October? How strong is that cider? Are you sure they're not just taking down the dried corn stalks? I'd still rather have Palm Trees and Coconuts but to each his own.

  10. Its soooo ccccoollldddd here too!

Hot apple cider for me too.

  11. I love apple cider, and the way the daylight looks in the fall. I'm glad to hear you're enjoying Nebraska - congrats on the new home! I knew you would continue to have a positive outlook.

  12. I'm so happy for you! And great pics!

  13. It's so nice to hear from you all again! Happy Harvest, Fall, Halloween to you guys too!

  14. hey girl! I'm glad you are loving fall and hanging in there!!! I love the stuff you sent me!!! Thanks a ton!
