Protect your cats

Get your cat a collar & name tag. Safe cat collars with name tags should be worn by all cats at all times. Even if your cat is an indoor or microchipped cat. The safest collars in my opinion are the collars with the breakaway and reflective features. The breakaway collars are designed to break away in a situation such as your cat's weight hanging from a branch. A good site for pet name tags is http://www.loveyourpets.com/ . You can fit your pet's name, your name, your address, and 2 phone numbers on one tag.You also NEED to get your cat microchipped. You can wait until your local vets have microchip specials. For Hawaii, this August is microchip month. You can go to all participating vets and get a microchip for only $5. You can find out what vet clinics participate in this by going to http://www.hawaiianhumane.org/.

Also, Get a rescue alert sticker for your house. You can get one for free at http://www.aspca.org/pet-care/disaster-preparedness/ .
